Why TUTA?

"TUTA" in Latin is defined as "Sheltered/Safe/Secure". We see this as the perfect description for our products! TUTA fully embodies the values that we feel make our clothing brand unique. 

 

My name is Tom and I have started my own company - Tuta Ltd (This being an extension of my parent's national clothing business; lemontreedesign.co.nz) producing warm, protective “Beach/Surf Jackets” and Floro “Safety” vests.   

 

    

I was a part of Red Beach Surf club from the age of 11 until 17 competing in junior events, I spent my teenage years taking part in the event crew for various competitions in the North Island. From this personal experience, I have seen what New Zealand’s weather can do first hand, essentially 4 seasons in one day which can be very unpredictable. Dressing for the weather can be a challenge with our harsh sun and the southerly winds changing things up constantly. I am now serving in the New Zealand Navy as a Marine technician; I strongly believe with all that my surf club taught me helped me to achieve a childhood dream to serve in the Navy. It's now time I gave back to Surf Club New Zealand.  

   

With this in mind, we have developed a Reflective/Wind Resistant/Showerproof Beach Jacket with additional safety features, keeping athletes, parents, kids, and officials protected from the elements whilst incorporating a SLSC "Aide Memoire". 

 

I have worked hard to incorporate as many safety, comfort, and practical features into this jacket whilst still keeping it, at an affordable cost!! Win - Win!!
